ARMING THE WORLD At last, George W has carved his legacy in stone, and it truly is monumental. Working with military contractors that backed his presidential runs, Bush has become history’s number one gunrunner! He has now sold or given away more war weaponry to more countries than any other U.S. president. Hoo boy – let’s hear it for George. This year has been his best. Bush’s Pentagon sales force, which acts as broker between U.S. weapons makers and foreign buyers, has produced $32 billion in sales this fiscal year, a giant leap from the $12 billion in business it generated in 2005. Fighter jets, missiles, tanks, drones, helicopters, warships, you-name-it – the Pentagon has been turned into a Weapons R Us mega-store for the world. Y’all come! There’s been a rush on sales this year, because it’s the last of the Bush-Cheney reign, and the U.S. industry fears that the next administration might tighten up a bit on such proliferation. Bush & Company are eager to re-arm Iraq, for example, hoping to buy its long term acquiescence to a permanent U.S. military presence in that increasingly-balky nation, so there’s been a big push there. But sales are – pardon the pun – booming all around the world. In addition to Iraq, recent hot new markets include Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Georgia, India, Morocco, and Pakistan. In Bush’s first term, sales to these governments totaled less than a billion dollars, but sales in the past four years have – pardon another pun – exploded to nearly $14 billion. A Bush appointee who helps coordinate some of the biggest arms sales, insists that such profligate spreading of weaponry will cement George’s legacy, because “This is about building a more secure world.” Yeah, sure – security is no longer a warm blanket, it’s having a bomb.

20 Dezember Armageddon AlarmAs the U.S. Central Command plans its "aggressive naval buildup in the Persian Gulf", including the addition of a second aircraft carrier, officials point to Iran's interference in Iraq — including its support for Shiite militants and shipments of improvised explosive devices into the country — recent military naval exercises in the Gulf, and its pursuit of nuclear weapons as reason enough to instigate U.S. "gunboat diplomacy". Although it has not been approved yet, it appears likely the increase in U.S. warships into the Gulf could come as early as January 2007.
Many today on both sides of the cultural divide choose to follow blind leaders who would lead their respective followers further into larger and more widespread conflicts, world war, and ultimately, nuclear exchange. Are we surprised? Religious wars have been at the root of past conflicts and wars throughout history. As the famous British historian Toynbee remarked, "the one thing we learn from history, is that we do not learn from history." In other words, the same mistaken beliefs that have led to wars in the past will inevitably be repeated again.
Ezekiel 38 speaks plainly of a major conflict at the end of time when armies from Gog and Magog (China and Mongolia)* descend upon the Middle East to invade the nation of Israel. Scholars will recognise this event as foretold in the book of Ezekiel, but other more recent Bible prophecies from the New Testament reference this event, as well. Togarmah and Gomer are also mentioned, as are Sheba and Dedan, though they are not as easy to identify. At any rate, they are all decisively annihilated in what appears to be a massive force of nature against them; such as a hurricane, tornado or worse, laced with fiery brimstone. God Himself intercedes for Israel and destroys the enemies of Israel so completely that it takes 7 months to find and bury all the dead. Point is, the whole world is witness to this cataclysmic event, and the world takes notice, because it's BIG.

Faster than you can say "hocus pocus," The Amazing George twisted a mission that he once told us was about bringing the gentle flower of democracy to the Iraqi people – into a frantic and deadly scramble to cope with the rising horror of a religious and ethnic civil war among those very people. Wait – there's more. In front of our very eyes, this assbackward alchemist took all of the golden good will that had poured into America from all around the world after 9/11, dumped it into his Iraq occupation, and transformed it into a growing hatred and hostility towards the America he represents. Also behind his wizard-like puffs of smoke, George's deceptive war machinations have killed more than 2,600 Americans and some 40,000 Iraqi civilians – while trampling our cherished freedoms here at home.
Now, 'President Shazzam' is trying to pull one more trick. With a sweep of his conjurer's cape, he's claiming that Americans must continue to die in his bloody war because Iraq – not Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda – represents the front line of the war on terror. Moreover, using patriotic sparklers to dazzle us rubes, George accuses anyone who points to his disastrous failures in Iraq as being borderline traitors whose dissent "simply emboldens terrorists."
Bush is no magician – he's a deceiver, who has mostly deceived himself. The stark reality is that he has trapped our troops in the middle of a brutal civil war that has zero to do with the real war on terrorists. No more lives should be sacrificed to George's self-deception and incompetence.
To quote Thomas Jefferson, "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." To quote Thomas Paine, "It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from his government." Being truly patriotic and compassionate in our current situation involves doing everything and anything we can, however big or small, to remove Bush and his regime from office, for their good, as well as our own. We, as a people, need to recognize the severity of the crisis our country is in. And then we need to act. It's an extremely dangerous situation that a person who is possessed by the virulent pathogen malignant egophrenia happens to be in the commander's seat of the most powerful country in the world. What's more, he's steering the ship to shipwreck. With Bush as president it's as if we are in a car going over the speed limit being driven by a drunk adolescent who has fallen asleep at the wheel. It's our responsibility to recognize our situation and to do something about it. If not, if we continue to passively and helplessly watch what is playing out in front of our very eyes, then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Now is the time to act before it is too late.
